What is the logic to propose a different mode of transported?

The recommendation regarding a transportationmode switch is done based on real time data from both internal and externalsources. For each recommendation you can the impact on transit time,transportation cost and CO2e Well-to-Wheel emitted.

How do you factor in different types of trucks, planes or ships?

Based on provided data NxtLog checks the specific vehicleused. Airfreight: For flights we check flight number, check theairplane and airplane type and associate fuel consumption. This is merged bythe avg. load by mode - that is checked monthly.

For ocean freight movements, NxtLog checksvessel number, the vessel type and associated fuel consumption. This is mergedby the avg. load by mode - that is checked monthly.

Truck transport
We check the vehicle type (3.5-ton truck,7.5-ton truck, 40-ton truck and others). Furthermore, we check the age of thevehicle and engine (fossil file, electric or hydrogen) and the emission class for this specific vehicle (e.g.EURO 2 – EURO 6). Based on all the information, the NxtLog engineassociate a respective CO2 consumption per mileage.

How is the potential for sustainability, cost and lead time calculated?

If you are anexisting customer of DB Schenker, the price reduction is based on yourindividually negotiated price points. If you do not provide any contractual norpricing data is to NxtLog, the engine uses existing spot data from platformslike TIMOCOM or other freight brokerage platforms and compare the relativedifference between the different spot rates.

Would the savings potential also include the sustainability fees?

Is it possible to share other transport requirements such as due date of products? 

The recommendation takes clients requirementsinto account and allows you to define min / max changes regarding lead time, costs, and sustainability.

The NxtLog engine checks the CO2 emissions from our reliable data provider Ecotransit trough API integrations immediately.

What weight factor is taking into the accountwhen NxtLog assesses the weight of a shipment? The actual weight or volumetric weight?

If no information is provided to the NxtLog engine,the solution takes the higher number into account to be on the conservativeside.

Can you differentiate based on CO2 savings that are made on purpose and not on purpose?

Since granular vehicle type date is considered achanged vehicle, ship or plan type is considered. However, the NxtLog enginecannot differentiate what was the root-cause of these changes.

How is the offsetting of calculated CO2 conducted?

NxtLog assess the CO2 for all transport, modeagnostics (air, ocean, truck, and rail). This information is visibly for eachshipment and aggregated for all shipments, countries, and modes. The offsettingof the emitted CO2 is conducted through partners.

How is the CO2 footprint for special shipments(temperature controlled, high value, etc.) handled?

NxtLog assumes a higher CO2 footprint forspecialized shipments. The footprint is thus a combination of the CO2 footprintof a standard delivery increased by a factor based on the special requirements.

Is a pricing based on transport possible?

We assess trucks based on 3,5-ton, 7,5-ton, 40-ton,and other truck types. We take general CO2 emissions into account. These CO2emissions have been gathered by an in-depth on road assessment. Furthermore,the NxtLog engine can differentiate on different powering solutions such asDiesel, Hydrogen and Electric trucks.

How does NxtLog differentiate between LTL (full truck load) and FTL (less than truck load)?
